Everyday Beautiful is my recap of the things that brought me joy during the previous week.
The hardest part of mending my relationship with my body has been to repair my relationship with movement. Changing the language in my head from exercise as a form of punishment to moving my body because it feels good – for my joints, my mind, and my soul. I’m very grateful for the friends that inspired this walk. I left the headphones behind and enjoyed hearing the critters in the bushes, planes overhead, water babbling, and sirens in the distance.
The variety of color in our trees is pure magic!
Enjoyed my lunch outside in the cool fresh air.
Library haul! I grabbed some Christmas books early this year so we can try them out before they are all gone. Life in Five Senses is for Becca’s bookclub – Pearls of Wisdom.
We caught a rainbow! I want a bumper sticker that says Rainbow Chaser.
I’m going to miss the fall colors. The storm we just had has knocked most of the leaves off.
Some fancy coffee while I draft another book lover’s gift guide… coming soon!
Christmas is coming! Are you resisting or diving right in?
My favorite time of the year for the moody bookshelf lighting.
The garden is still showing off her pretty colors.
A flash back at this week in 2021. So many similarities!

Finished Reel by Kennedy Ryan and in typical KR style – it was amazing! She is such a talented author and I look forward to reading more of her backlist titles.

Recipes I Tried
We really enjoyed this Tuscan Chicken Orzo!
Tried these high-protein Pumpkin Oatmeal Pancakes, but I was the only one that would consider eating them again. The hubs and kiddos struggled with the texture.
We had a Souper Saturday this week since it was rainy. My quick and easy Chicken Tortilla Soup in the Instant Pot fit the bill – Combine 3 1/2 cups chicken broth, a can of refried beans (we like Rosarita’s green chile & lime best), 1/2 cup salsa, 1 can diced tomatoes, cumin (several shakes), and 1 cup frozen corn – mix together. Add 3 chicken breasts and push into the soup mixture. Cook on high pressure for 9 minutes, natural release for 5 minutes. Remove chicken and check temperature. Shred chicken and add back to pot. Spoon into bowls and add chips and other desired toppings. We like sour cream, shredded cheese, cilantro, and jalapeno.
