Still looking for a gift for the book lover on your list? This Gift Guide for Book Lovers is sure to have just the right thing!
My Favorite Gift Guides
I love gift guides! I start getting antsy in October, waiting for my favorite bloggers to post their gift guides, so that I can peruse and look for ideas for Christmas! Some of my favorites are from Everyday Reading, Mel’s Kitchen Cafe, and Shutterbean. Even if I don’t buy the exact things recommended, they at least spark my imagination on things my family and friends may like.
Last week, Modern Mrs. Darcy released a gift guide for books and another post about bookish things and it got me thinking – it’s not too late to share some of my recommendations either. Even if you’ve already completed your shopping for Christmas, this list is good for any time of year.
I’ve teamed up with my IRL book loving friends, Becca from Life’s a Pearl and Nicole from @TheTipsyReader, to bring you some of our top book recommendations for eight types of readers! Enjoy! ☺
Books
For the reader who reads everything!
This reader is special. She can read a spooky thriller one day and a charming romance the next. She can enjoy a world of fantasy and travel back in time to abolish slavery! You never know what she’s up to next. Which means you can’t go wrong with any book for her.
For the reader who just loves books!
This reader loves pretty books, colorful books, books about books. She values the books with the pretty spines, bright colors, and sometimes orders books from the UK because their covers are prettier. (Oh, maybe that’s just me!)
For the reader who loves romance!
This reader is looking for love in all the right places. She wants charming characters, a light-hearted story with meaning, and a happily ever after! And don’t forget the steam…
For the reader who loves a thrill!
This reader is tricky. She’s probably read all of the latest thrillers and compares them to her beloved favorites.
For the reader who likes to escape to a different time!
This reader loves Historical Fiction. Loves to see how an author can research a true part of our past and re-create it with such vigor and liveliness.
For the reader who likes to escape to a different place!
This reader loves to be picked up and moved. To travel to another place far far away without leaving the comfort of her chair. Whether it’s the cold mountains of Alaska or the warm sunny beach, these novels will transport you.
For the reader who needs to be inspired!
This reader is looking to grow, but needs the helping hand of a warm friend to get her started.
For the reader who’s not quite a reader yet!
This reader needs someone to place a good book in her hand and say “Read this book!” She needs a compelling story, a book you couldn’t put down, or a book you’ve read over and over again.
For the reader looking for Holiday Spirit
In case you’re still looking for some holiday spirit this year, here are some favorites!
Bookish Things
Maybe this reader has too many books (no such thing!) or you’d rather give a bookish token. Here are a few of my favorite bookish things!
- Bookmarks – There are so many wonderful bookmarks available now – Etsy is my favorite place to look!
- Book Stamp – Every reader needs a “From the Library Of” stamp.
- Book Darts – they make it so easy to remember something you want to refer back to while you’re reading. These are my favorite.
- Book Light – There are many different types, but this one is my favorite!
- Book Pillow – a great addition to any reading nook! Here’s a cute one and here’s one that feels accurate right now!
- Book Shirts – I just found a few on here that I want!
Are you planning to give any bookish gifts this year? Have any recommendations for these types of readers? I would love to hear them!
